Hello, welcome to Attic Lab!
Reality is a complex thing; it’s made up of sights for sore eyes and sounds of music, time that passes by, there are breezes of wind, smells that we love or hate, tastes we can barely resist, loved ones, memories, stories and feelings.
Sadly we are looking at that complex reality more and more through a screen. Not that screens are necessarily a bad thing; they can help us travel through space and time, even when we are locked into place. But we do tend to forget..
We forget that we are not just ratio, not just meant for the ‘rational senses’ of seeing and hearing. We are emotional, intuitive and connected to our memories and pasts.
We believe that using the lower senses intentionally in design can fortify peoples connection to their memories, their bodies, their existence. Unique experiences are what bring us together, create empathy and unite us.
Attic Lab is an independent scent-studio, based in Arnhem, that is part of a larger creative bubble. Renske, founder of Attic Lab, is a collaborator at Society of Cocktails and Memory Bar and has been specializing in multi-sensory events and the use of scent in innovative contexts since 2013.
