Thijs Elich (1987) studied theatre and musical composition at the interfaculty ArtScience from the Royal Academy of Art and Royal Conservation in The Hague, NL. His main expertise lays in the field of music theatre and interdisciplinary art. He created sound design and performances for different theaters and festivals. Among those are Zeebelt, Scheltema, Theater aan het Spui, ArtEZ and Biennale di Carrara (IT). Five years ago he and Renske van Vroonhoven stumbled upon the subject of scent. Since a few years he’s one of the founders of Attic Lab.
Thijs Elich and Renske van Vroonhoven are the two perfumers behind the Attic Lab lable. They both have a background in the arts and worked in disciplines such as painting, photography, musical composition and theatre. Their field of expertise is to work in an interdisciplinary way, combining different forms of art. Five years ago they stumbled upon the subject of scent and started teaching themselves perfumery. At this point they work with scent in the broadest sense of the word.
They work with universities, municipalities, academies, in artistic and cultural contexts. Currently they are setting up a crowdfunding campaign to create an open lab space. They want to actively open up the scent culture so more people get to enjoy it.
